Move to the USA
Belém, capital of the state of Pará
Known as the 'Portal of the Amazon' or the 'City of Mango Trees.' Where the dolphins are pink and over 200 native species of edible fruits exist - including açaí and Brazil nuts. Saskya left her hometown in 2004.
Brazil
Miami, the 'Magic City'
Miami is known for its diversity and vibrance. A land that has taught her the force of nature, and its people the force of spirit; it is where she learned that 'hard work pays off.'
In school, science was her favorite subject. She dreamed of becoming a doctor like her father. While in High School, she led 3 different sports teams.
While in college, science continued to be her main interest and focus. Soon after earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Florida International University and submitting medical school applications, she realized that becoming a doctor was not her dream after all.

She pursued teaching, photography, writing and editing, marketing, curating art, digital storytelling etc. She has also been involved in brand awareness and business development while working for tech startups, nonprofits, and small businesses. Until making her next big move, to Europe.

Fun & ❤️
Prague and Paris
Where, for the first time, she experienced the seasons change. For two years, Saskya moved to pursue her master's degree 5,000 miles away from everyone and everything she knew.
As a graduate, her study focus was on the social sciences: foreign affairs, economics, diplomacy, and politics.
While living in Europe she learned to speak French, became a dance instructor, and earned a Master of International Economic Relations at the University of Economics, in Prague.
To date, she has visited thirteen European countries.
Back in the United States
In 2020, Saskya moved to D.C. to work at the U.S. Capitol for two Congress Members as a social media manager.
One of her main highlights was having the opportunity to volunteer with a limited number of staffers at the presidential inauguration.
Life in Washington, D.C.
In 2023, Saskya moved back to the nonprofit sector to help with the mission of closing the digital divide and connecting communities to high-speed internet through policy advocacy.
She works as a marketing and public relations director for the SHLB Coalition.
Some of her favorite activities are dancing, painting in watercolors, and being surrounded by family and friends while enjoying her mom's delicious vatapá.
Dance has been a major part of her life since 2016, and in 2024 she started teaching forró as she craved to build community and reconnect with her Brazilian roots (judging by her focus face it goes beyond "just for fun" -->).
